Let’s Walk TOGETHER to End Breast Cancer!!

Last year, I lost one of my best childhood friends to breast cancer.

Jessica and I were ‘birthday neighbors’ that had known each other since we were in middle school living in the same apartment complex.

She was 29 and newly married when she lost her battle.

Jessica never got to see her 30th birthday. She never had the chance to bring life into this world. It wasn’t supposed to be her, and losing her has forever changed the way I look at this disease.

Cancer DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE.

It doesn’t care who you are, how much money you make, how old you are. Cancer doesn’t care how much you have – or have not – done in your life.

CANCER SUCKS.

Instead of sitting around and hating this disease silently, I’m SO thankful to be hosting this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Tampa walk on October 28th at Amalie Arena.

THOUSANDS of us will get together that day to walk for the people who have either beaten or are still fighting this disease, and in memory of those who are unable to.

Linda Hurtado and I hosted Tampa’s kickoff event this year in downtown Tampa.

We encouraged people to join teams, form one of their own, and help us raise money and awareness about this terrible disease.

CANCER SUCKS, and on October 28th, we will join together to make sure that we beat it.

Wear your pink, get creative, and I can’t wait to see you there.

Details about the Hillsborough walk can be found here.

And here are some more stories from brave SURVIVORS. ❤
